Who Was Becky?
Becky was a Wife. Becky was a Mom. Becky was a Nurse.
Becky was a Mentor. Becky was a Friend.
Becky’s Way was founded on behalf of Becky Armstrong. Becky was the mother of Eric Neilsen (Founder & President of Becky’s Way) and Andy Neilsen, a drafter at an architecture firm living in Waynesboro, VA. Becky was an extremely giving person who gave up so much so her sons never needed anything. She worked long hours as a nurse and still made sure to drive her kids to all their sporting events and activities. Becky had many “sons” including Eric’s high school friends who called her mom.
Becky was a nurse for her entire 30+ career working in the ER, OR, ICU, etc. She was active in her local church, Lifeline Ministries and lived every day to make someone else’s life better. Becky held an annual Thanksgiving dinner for the less fortunate at the local firehouse in Hot Springs, VA and was named a Hometown Hero on WDBJ7 TV station based in Roanoke, VA.
Becky loved margaritas and the beach! She is exactly who you think of when you think of a truly great person who walked this earth. Becky passed away on March 7, 2014 after a 6-month battle with cancer and is smiling over us from heaven.
